Dr. Michelle A. Fennick’s research agenda centers on educational leadership, with particular emphasis on reflective practice, appreciative inquiry, intentional time management, and leadership effectiveness. Her scholarship examines how educational administrators use reflection and accumulated professional judgment to strengthen decision-making, improve organizational outcomes, support professional growth, and sustain greater balance in demanding leadership environments. She is especially interested in the conditions, habits, and systems that help educational leaders lead with greater clarity, intentionality, and effectiveness.

Her research also explores the role of artificial intelligence in K to 12 and higher education, including how emerging technologies can support productivity, leadership practice, teacher support, and organizational improvement. Additional areas of interest include women in educational leadership and higher education, early-career faculty experiences, teacher leadership, workplace support and retention, and human-centered approaches to professional learning. Across these areas, Dr. Fennick’s work seeks to connect research with practice by examining strategies that strengthen leadership capacity, professional agency, organizational effectiveness, and the development of reflective and responsive educational leaders.
