Applying to the DBA program

REQUEST INFORMATION

We're so excited you're taking the next step to get your DBA in Energy Management!

Prospective graduate students should submit all admissions materials by May 15th. Once all documents are received by the university, the Admissions Office will forward your file to the doctoral admissions commitee for a decision.

Admission Requirements

  1. Submission of the ApplyTexas application
  2. A master’s degree in business, engineering, or another energy-related discipline (official transcripts of graduate degrees)
  3. Five to seven years of progressively increasing managerial/supervisory experience in the energy-related field/industry
  4. An essay outlining the applicant's objectives for pursuing the DBA program
  5. A current resume
  6. Three letters of reference
(DBA candidates will need to commit 12-15 hours per week to the program to complete the DBA in as little as 2.5 years.)

Application Deadlines

Domestic

Domestic applications must be received 45 days before summer registration.

  • Final Deadline: May 15

International

The international applications must be received by the following dates:

Fall Term (August)

  • Priority Deadline: May 15

  • Final Deadline: May 15

Required Applications Materials

An admissions application completed online through the Apply Texas system.

Official transcripts from each college or university attended, including the accredited institution from which the applicant earned a master’s degree and most recent.

International Students

The Office of Admissions has a team designated to provide in-house evaluations for graduate international transcripts at no additional cost to the student. Graduate International Students can have their transcripts submitted directly from their previous institutions for evaluation. Transcripts must be translated into English and can be sent by email, luadmtran@lamar.edu, or by mail to:

If students have evaluated transcripts, they can have the evaluation agencies email the official transcripts to luadmtran@lamar.edu, or by mail to the address above. Transcripts submitted from student or personal emails will not be considered for admissions purposes.
