Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ students enjoy cheering on their Cardinals. Teams have a history of winning championships in sports including men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, golf and cross country.
The Lamar Cardinals play in one of the best Division I FCS venues in the nation, thanks in large part to the generosity of donors like Walter Umphrey and his partners at Provost Umphrey law firm.
The Montagne Center has been the home of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ basketball for the past 30 years. The Montagne Center boasts a seating capacity of 10,080, making it one of the largest in the Southland Conference.
The home of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ baseball since 1969, Vincent-Beck Stadium has become a true showpiece among college baseball facilities in the Southwest.
When McDonald Gym opened in 1958, it became a campus landmark. Today it is the competition venue for LU Volleyball and features a high performance maple wood floor and retractable seating for 500 fans.
The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Cheerleading Team is a competitive, co-ed team that performs at all home football and basketball games, traveling tournament games, and various community events.
Members must be full-time students at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ or Lamar Institute of Technology and have a minimum 2.0 grade point average.

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Dance Team receives generous scholarships that can provide up to 50 percent of tuition based on skills, years on the team, and leadership status.
