Misplaced is a series of six screen-printed drawings that explore the feeling of being out of place. Each illustration pairs an object with an environment that contrasts it visually and stylistically, reflecting both personal and observed experiences of social discomfort and alienation. Contrast is central to my work. I’m drawn to combining opposing elements and composing them in ways that create a sense of balance despite their differences. This visual language becomes a way to interpret and communicate the experience of displacement.
Originally, this project began as a way to translate my digital drawings into a physical form. Screen-printing allows me to merge digital processes with printmaking, transforming intangible work into something tangible that can exist within a shared space. Ultimately, Misplaced reframes the idea of “being out of place” as a temporary and universal condition. By approaching it with acceptance, the work encourages viewers to see this feeling not as an anomaly, but as a normalized part of human experience.
