Between Worlds

Between Worlds is a bilingual book, paired with four posters, designed to encourage recreational language learning. Each page presents English and Spanish side by side, merging traditional and contemporary design to visually reflect the connection between two cultures. The project addresses language barriers experienced by South American immigrants in the U.S. and English speakers alike, with a focus on accessibility within early learning. Designed primarily for children but inclusive of all ages, the book promotes language acquisition through engaging, visually driven content.

Informed by research and artistic influences that explore similar cultural intersections, the work balances clarity, audience awareness, and design cohesion. It emphasizes factors that both challenge and support language learning within the U.S. context. Inspired by my experience as the child of Mexican immigrants, this project reflects the realities of navigating two languages and cultures. Growing up translating for my family, I learned the challenges and value of bilingualism. This book aims to ease that process by making language learning interactive, approachable, and enjoyable for individuals and families alike.
