In compliance with the Texas Education Code (§ 51.942) and the
Texas State University System (TSUS) Rules and Regulations, Â鶹ÊÓƵ has developed a process to evaluate the performance of tenured faculty. This “post-tenure review” process determines whether tenured faculty members are performing consistently at an acceptable professional level and offers a mechanism whereby tenured faculty, if needed, can improve performance.
Lamar’s post-tenure review standards are approved and made publicly available by the Office of the Provost. A policy on Performance Evaluation of Tenured Faculty (
MAPP 02.02.37) has been developed with faculty input, and each academic department and/or college has established post-tenure performance standards specific to its discipline(s).
If you have questions or comments about Lamar's post-tenure review criteria, please contact your Department Chair or College Dean. You can also send inquiries to Dr. Gene Theodori, Associate Provost for Academic and Research Administration, at 409-880-7848 or
