Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Master of Science in Management Information Systems Experiential Learning combines IT training with real-world corporate consulting projects, co-ops and client deliverables. The variety of experiential learning opportunities in this program enables you to build additional skills in communications, teamwork and client relations that will propel your career.
Whether in a simulation, a consultative experience or real-life business, you'll be thrust into an environment where the challenges facing the business are ambiguous and unstructured, and the outcomes are based upon real circumstances. By enrolling in this program, you'll work across disciplines and tools to understand the nature of every challenge, and how to respond to either protect the company, exploit the opportunity, enhance the strategy, learn from your mistakes, etc.
Intelligent Enterprise Systems: This course provides students with an understanding of fundamental business processes and enterprise systems. Students will learn how to integrate these business processes into an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, specifically SAP. Students gain hands-on experience using SAP for the fulfillment, procurement, production, financial accounting and management of business processes. the course includes an ERP simulation (ERPsim) strategy game.
Business Intelligence and AI: This course introduces Business Intelligence, analytics, data science, and artificial intelligence for managerial applications. Students learn descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, machine learning, conversational AI, and ethical AI use. Hands-on tools and real-world cases prepare students to design AI-enhanced solutions that improve business decision-making and competitive advantage.
Data Mining and Predictive Analysis: This course introduces students to the concepts of Business Analytics to help professionals make informed decisions based on data. Besides learning Excel functions, students will use data visualization and data mining techniques to discover hidden trends in data sets. Students will also use the latest predictive analytical tools from SAP to anticipate future behavior that will help make better managerial decisions.
Database Management Systems: This course covers design, implementation and management of database systems. Students will learn: 1. Database design concepts 2. The physical implementation of a database design with software such as MS Access, Oracle and Structured Query Language (SQL) 3. DBMS functions, database administration and database management approaches.
AI for Business Applications: This course examines how businesses can leverage generative AI technologies to optimize a wide range of practices. Students will explore the key principles of generative AI and learn how these technologies can be effectively deployed in business contexts.
